Size queens rejoice. It’s big. It’s squishy. It Vibrates AND it has a suction cup – and it’s here to conquer – one hole at a time. I’m talking about SAM.

The newest member of the Tantus Dual Density line – and the second realistic vibrator – is a beast. When SAM arrived, I was completely gob smacked by how big it was. When Tantus had emailed, asking if I would be interested in reviewing it, they had hinted that it was a big one. “How big?” I enquired. “We’ll send it to you and you can have a look!” was the reply.

It arrived along with 2 other toys – the ALAN and the DUCHESS (see previous reviews) and this was definitely the one I was absolutely more anxious about using. So those of you who like your dildos big… sit back, relax and get comfortable. We’re about to tackle SAM…

First Impressions

As with all of the Tantus range, it’s packaged in their fun, bright colourful boxes with the clear plastic trays, allowing you to see what’s inside before you open it. Like the ALAN, the SAM comes packaged with both a vibrating bullet and a suction cup, allowing the toy to be used in a multitude of ways.

SAM is made of the same delicious dual density silicone as the likes of the GARY and the FLURRY, so features a soft outer layer over a firmer core, giving a pretty realistic sensation in the hand. In terms of appearance, I think it’s the most realistic looking of all the ‘realistic’ dildos. You can see every little pore in the ‘skin’ and there are several pronounced veins running along the entire length of the SAM. There’s a defined tip, along with little skin folds around where the frenulum would be. As realistic dildos go, it’s a work of art.

SAM stands a proud 7 inches tall and has a girth of 6 inches along the entire length of the dildo. In hand though, it looks and feels much bigger than it is. There is a flared base making it harness compatible (but this is definitely not a beginners toy!) and it has the cavity to insert both a vibrating bullet, or the suction cup to allow for hands free play.

After turning it over in my hands a few times, I knew this was going to require a strict warm up. So how did we get on?

In Use

I’m going to put this right up front – it took me SEVERAL attempts over different days to finally get this beast inside me. There was much sweat and tears (thankfully no blood) but it certainly was a mammoth effort. Was it worth it, in the end? Absolutely. You just need to have a lot of patience, especially if you don’t play with bigger dildos all the time.

The first time I tried to take SAM for a ride, I had warmed up using some of the other dual density toys I had (like GARY and the CUSH). When I felt I was ready, I grabbed SAM, applied a good coating of lube and got ready for insertion. I got about the first inch in and then I just couldn’t go any further. No matter how I tried, it just felt too much and caused a small amount of pain. I didn’t want to push it too much, so I left it for that day.

Each subsequent try pretty much followed the same sort of pattern. I douched, used plenty of lube on myself and on all the toys I used to warm up (each time, I took a little bit longer, just trying to get myself relaxed and ready) and each time – I got about an inch or so onto the SAM and just couldn’t go any further. At this point, I was starting to get REALLY frustrated. I didn’t want this to be the first toy that I would have to turn round and say “Sorry – I just can’t review this”. I was determined that me and SAM would become firm friends.

I took a few more attempts before it finally happened. I don’t know if I was just super-horny that day or what, but after going through my usual warm up routine, I attempted the SAM again, with a completely clear mind – and slowly, but surely, SAM began to fill me up. I figured it must have been a w(hole) ‘mind over matter’ sort of thing – like deep down, my brain was going “LOOK AT THE SIZE OF IT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?”. Because it’s still got a good level of firmness to it (I’m almost tempted to say it’s the FIRMEST of the O2 dual density toys) is that it definitely does feel much bigger than it is.

But eventually, we got it in, and boy; it had me breathless in no time. It really stretched me out and had me feeling incredibly full. So much so that thrusting on this occasion was out of the question. I swear I could feel my eyes bulging out of my head. The second time I was able to get it inside, I was able to thrust with it, slowly. For days when I want to enjoy a nice, slow session – SAM is what I will reach for. I certainly couldn’t pick up any speed with it. But when used slowly, it felt pretty good.

Use with a Bullet

The included bullet is sadly just not powerful enough to really make any kind of significant impact in the thickness of the SAM. I could barely feel it at the base, let alone anywhere else near the tip. So the included bullet (whilst waterproof and quiet) immediately gets tossed a side and replaced with the Tango. However, even with the Tango, the vibrations are muted quite heavily due to the overall size and thickness of the SAM.

However, the vibrations from the Tango do transfer much better than the included bullet, so when used this way, the vibrations do provide a nice little extra sensation but here, the vibrations are definitely the warm up act – not the main event. SAM really is all about the size.

Use with the Suction Cup

When using the suction cup, I’ve found that the SAM is best used like, on the floor. When stuck to the wall, the weight of the SAM just pulls it down and it becomes slightly trickier/fiddlier to back on to. However, when placed on the floor, it stands pretty straight, and it’s much easier to lower yourself onto it.

The suction cup holds the dildo pretty securely. However, I found that it was so much easier to use the SAM hands-free using the Liberator Bon Bon. It certainly held it much firmer, and really allowed me to focus on trying to take the dildo without hurting myself!

Clean-up and Maintenance

Due to the highly textured nature of the SAM, you’ll definitely want to ensure it’s given a thorough clean after use. You can boil it, bleach it, put it in the dishwasher or give it a thorough clean with warm water and toy cleaner – paying extra attention around the veins and skin dimples.

When it comes to storage, a little big would be a good idea as the silicone does attract bits of hair, dust and fluff really easily. A quick rinse before each use wouldn’t go amiss either.

Summary

I do like the SAM. Honestly, I do – it’s well crafted, has a brilliant realistic texture and it’s got a good, if slightly intimidating size. If you are a fan of girthy dildos and have longed for something safe and realistic, the SAM might be what you have been waiting for. It’s not something I would be pulling out a lot, however when I want to enjoy a good stretch, and enjoy a long, slow, deeply fulfilling session – then SAM will be at the top of the pile, without a doubt.

Is it worth the $139 price tag? I would say so – it’s rare to see chunkier dildos in silicone – so naturally, larger, heavier dildos will incur a slightly larger price tag – however the inclusion of the suction cup and vibrator (as weak as it is) create a multi-functional toy – coupled with the fact it’s harness compatible too. It’s a big, beautiful squishy beast that demands your respect and attention. It certainly got mine.
