Interactive toys are a lucrative market these days. They used to be a niche and were a little clunky; but thanks to the rise of cam sites and access to VR becoming cheaper and easier; people are investing in those those products that will allow them to live out their wildest fantasies in the comfort and safety of their own home.

We’ve dabbled with our fair share of ‘interactive’ toys here on the blog. The first ‘proper’ interactive toy we tried was the Onyx by Kiiroo and honestly, our first experience wasn’t great. But technology has changed and toys are working better with content. Take the Pulse Solo Interactive; the actual interactive technology is pretty sound and worked very well. But the Pulse the sensation don’t necessarily match the action on the screen. But it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

SVAKOM are a brand we haven’t really talked about on the blog much; but they have brought out a line of interactive masturbators; and today we are taking a look at the Svakom SAM NEO – a masturbator that combines vibration and intense suction into one package. There is also the ALEX NEO; which features a thrusting mechanism. If this is something you’d like to see reviewed; leave me a comment down below. It’s always good to know what you’d like to see.

In the meantime, let’s get on with the SAM NEO; I was quite looking forward to this, as the concept seemed to be similar to the MAX 2 by Lovense, but in a slightly smaller, more compact (and dare I say, better looking?) package. Does it hit all the right spots? Well let’s find out…

First Impressions

The packaging for the SAM NEO is pretty solid; it feels like a good high-end masturbator. Inside the box, you’ll find your toy, a charging cable and a small instruction manual. The outer case is made from strong and sturdy ABS plastic, whilst the removable sleeve is made (supposedly) made from silicone. I say supposedly because this doesn’t feel like silicone – it has the same tacky feeling that TPE/TPR does, especially after it’s been rinsed and dried. We have reached out to the brand to get clarification but at the time of publishing, I didn’t have a response. As soon as we have an answer, I will update the post. There is nothing wrong with use TPE/TPR in these sorts of products; but it’s not good practice to lie about what materials you are using.

For your pleasure, the SAM NEO can be used in 3 different ways; manually using the push button at the bottom. You can hand control over to someone else using the FeelConnect app to have someone else control it remotely OR you can hook it up to your favourite adult content (providing it’s compatible – I’ve only tried it with FeelX and that’s because I still had some of my free trial left!). The device is rechargeable and a 3 hour charge will give you 1 hour of use. There are 5 different vibration/suction settings to tease yourself with. So, how did we get on with it? Well let’s find out…

In Use

Solo Play

The first time using the SAM NEO saw me just taking it out for a test drive by myself. As always, I like to give things a quick go-over before I unleash them on my husband – just to make sure our testing sessions are fun. The SAM NEO sleeve has quite a tight entry point that is lined with the basic lumps and bumps that you’ll find in most masturbators. Before I turned it on, I just took it for a quick bounce; It was definitely a snug fit – and immediately I was concerned that it was going to be a little too snug for him. But we’ll come to that later.

When you turn it on, the device kicks straight into it’s first vibration and suction mode. The vibrations are focused down towards the bottom of the shaft, and are provided by what looks like a basic egg-style bullet. There is only one speed of vibrations, and honestly, that was already quite disappointing. The thickness of the sleeve dampens those vibrations quite a bit already to the point that it didn’t really seem worth it. The suction however, was pretty strong and it gripped my member very tightly before releasing it. With the first setting on, the sleeve grips you with a pulse and release style; whilst the vibrations gently pulse away in the background.

The second setting see’s the vibrations increase in speed (but not intensity); and the suction goes in for a longer grip before releasing you and then going in with a shorter grip. The third setting has the vibrations increase their fastest speed, and the suction pulls you in even longer. Next, there is a ‘suction’ only setting, and then a vibration only setting as your final option. When you switch of the suction, the SAM NEO is still able to maintain a good amount of vacuum, that even once you remove your dick and slip back inside – it still pulls you in and grips hold of you tightly. And eventually it led me to a fairly satisfactory orgasm.

App Connectivity

The Svakom SAM NEO uses the FeelConnect app in order to be controlled remotely (the same app we used for the Pulse Solo) and connectivity is relatively straight forward. On the touch screen, you have two little buttons that you can slide around the screen – one will change the vibrations, the other will change the suction. This means that you can hand the remote to someone else in the room to control for you OR if they have the app, they can connect to you from wherever and control it. This makes it a good choice for someone who likes to do interactive cam shows; or allow you to feel intimacy with a partner who is long distance – not something that we ever have had to deal with. But it’s good to know.

But in terms of it’s connectivity, we had no issues connecting via bluetooth – and we had a pretty decent response time (although I cannot give you any idea what the latency might be like over longer distances). If that ever changes, we’ll let you know.

Content Connectivity

To connect the Svakom SAM NEO to content; you just need to scan the QR code on the FeelX page for the video you are trying to watch; and then your SAM NEO will connect and will sync to what’s happening on the screen. Well, I say sync… the vibrations sync (sort of) but the suction just seems to be doing it’s own thing. Regardless of what video we were watching, the vibrations seem to pulse in time to every thrust or suck – but the suction was just… having it’s own party. It was a little distracting. What would have been great, was to have the suction synced to what’s going on. As that cock first goes in the mouth, it squeezes you in before letting you loose…

I don’t know if this is a limitation of the technology – but it didn’t work quite as well as I was hoping for. Maybe my expectations were too high – but given what the MAX 2 can do, I was expecting a little more and it just doesn’t quite give me the experience I’m hoping for. A shame, because aside from the lacklustre vibrations – the vacuum function is pretty decent.

Too Girthy?

I had suggested earlier on in this review, that I was worried that even I found the SAM NEO orifice to be quite tight; knowing that my husband is girthier, I suspected that he would find this a little too snug. And I was right. He felt the vibrations did absolutely nothing; and that even without the suction, stroking was a little uncomfortable as it’s just too tight for him, and with the vacuum, it sometimes meant he wasn’t even able to get into the sleeve at all. He felt was too much fuss for very little sensation.

Clean-up and Maintenance

The SAM NEO is not waterproof, so when cleaning you will need to remove the sleeve and give it a good rinse with some warm soapy water. The silicone sleeve can be pat dry before being put back inside the case – OR you can let it air dry – just make sure the internal cavity is fully dry before popping it back. The outer casing can be wiped over with a barely damp cloth and it will look as good as new.

There is no storage case but the SAM NEO stores quite nicely upright in the cupboard with all the other Fleshjack’s and TENGA’s that we have accumulated over the years. I do wish though, that these toys come with a storage bag; so I can keep the cable with it without fear of losing it. Charging cables to have a habit of disappearing in this house!

Summary

It’s a bit of a mixed bag with this one. On the one hand, there are certain features that I personally like, such as a the vacuum suction – but I absolutely detest the vibrations (or rather, the absolute lack of them). A thinner texture sleeve might have helped this, but honestly I just think they’ve gone for a cheap bullet and it just doesn’t give me the power I desire, nay NEED in a device like this.

The MR agrees; it’s not a great for anyone with a girth of 6 inches or more; and the vibrations left a lot to be desired. The App control is a good feature, allowing you a wider range of control over the standard functions accessed via the onboard control. But it’s the juddery connectivity with the video content that lets this one down. Maybe the ALEX NEO would be better suited for that kind of content? Maybe that’s something for us to investigate in the future (if you want).
