We’re slowly catching up with our overdue reviews and today we’re coming at you with our second review for the gorgeous people over at SheVibe. Anyone who is a regular reader will know that vibrating cock toys are my absolute favourite.
We have tried so many over the years; and you’d think I’d be bored of them by now. But no, I’m always on the look out for new innovations and when I saw the Cal Exotics Boundless Flickering Stroker on SheVibe; I knew I had to give it a try. The concept seems simple enough – a sleeve that’s designed to encapsulate your member with vibrations but with a twist… it has a little flickering tongue! I wasn’t sure what this was potentially going to add in terms of sensation; but I was excited.
But did the Boundless Flickering Stroker send us over the edge? Or did it leave us teetering at the brink… there was only one way to find out. So grab a cuppa and let’s get down to it..
The packaging for the Boundless Flickering Stroker is simple and under-stated. Just a simple cardboard box and a plastic clam shell which houses the toy and the charging cable. There is an instruction manual also included. The stroker is made from Silicone and ABS plastic. To use; it will need to be charged for 1.5 hours and will give you 50 minutes of play time on the lowest speed and around 30 minutes on it’s highest.
The stroker features an open, flexible design making it suitable for all sizes; as the main focus of the stimulation is on the glans and the sensitive frenulum. It’s lightweight and it’s rounded handle shape is surprisingly comfortable to hold, even when hands are slightly slippery. There is a single touch button to switch through the 10 levels of vibration and patterns. It has a memory chip so it will remember the last setting you had it on.
I had high hopes for this toy. It’s been a while since we had reviewed anything from the Cal Exotics brand; but they generally do a decent job when it comes to strokers. Their Hydro Stroker still sees some play time. But no matter how hard I tried; I just couldn’t *love* this. It’s not the worst thing I’ve tried and thankfully it’s better than the Cyclone. But it’s definitely missing the mark.
Let’s focus on the positives. So the design is pretty good; it’s flexible design allows to accommodate most sizes and the ridges inside; can help create a mild suction sensation when you are fully aroused. You can stroke with the device; and the soft flappy bits on the inside do impart a nice bit of sensation. The vibrations themselves are not bad. I’ve definitely had stronger, but the design of the sleeve does a fairly decent job of allowing those vibrations to be felt all the way around. On it’s highest setting it was “pleasant” but it absolutely wasn’t rocking my socks off. It’s a nice little warm up.
Where the Flickering Touch really fails, at least in my opinion, is the actual flickering. The selling point of this toy. Now it’s entirely possible that I’m just too sensitive or what; but for me, the flickering is misplaced. The little tongue that’s at the base/top is situated in such a way that in use, it’s constantly flicking my pee hole (or urethral opening if you prefer technical terms). I know there are plenty of folks out there who enjoy urethral stimulation but I am not one of them. What I’m sure was designed to feel pleasurable; actually felt… well, painful. I could only take a few seconds of the ‘lickin’ before I had to pull out of the sleeve. The annoying part is, you cannot operate the toy without the flickering.
In my opinion, for the ‘flickering’ to be more effective; it should be placed in such a way that it provides stimulation to the frenulum. Make the tongue a little wider and softer and I’d wager you’d be on to a winner. But right now, as is; I doubt the Flickering Stroker will be seeing much more play time in the bedroom. Which is a shame, but this is why we do these things. We put our dick in things so you don’t have to. Unless you want to, in which case – more power to you.
Clean-up and Maintenance
The Boundless Flickering Stroker is 100% waterproof; so not only can you take it into the bath or shower for some aquatic fun – it makes clean-up a breeze. You can just rinse it in the sink (but pay attention to the textured flaps as they are a trap for lube and bodily fluids). Once it’s clean, you can either let it air dry or us a lint-free cloth to pat it dry. It can safely be stored with other silicone products. A storage bag is not included. I always lament toys that don’t come with a bag. All I want is a little bag to keep the toy and it’s charging cable together. Is that really too much to ask?
This is a case of being so close and yet so far. The general idea is solid and is normally a winner for me. Granted the vibrations could have been a little bit stronger. If I hold it in such a way that the little flicking tongue doesn’t tickle my pee hole then it’s quite pleasant. It’s not the quick, satisfying orgasm I normally like from my vibrating cock toys – but if you are someone who likes to take their time and edge for hours – this could be a great little pick up for you.
However that damn tongue; its in the wrong place. The sensation it offers is overwhelming and not in the good way. If there was maybe an option to turn it off; then I’d might be a bit more generous with my score. Maybe if they consider making a new version on the future; make the vibrations stronger and move that damn tongue!

Cal Exotics Boundless Flickering Stroker
Pros: Compact size but still works for a lot of sizes, waterproof for water play and easy cleaning, OK vibrations and comfortable fit.
Cons: Vibrations could be better and the flickering felt more painful than sensational (in my opinion)
Bottom Line: If the flickering was in a different place, or I could turn it off and just use the vibration; this might have scored higher. But for now, the flickering sensation is too much and misplaced.
