It’s been almost a whole year since we reviewed something from my favourite wank toy manufacturer TENGA; and it’s funny that today’s review is the vibrating counterpart of the last toy we reviewed for them.

At the end of 2022, we looked at the TENGA Flip Zero Gravity; and you know what – it was alright! As the models go on, there’s very little that really differentiates the different models from each other; usually it’s just a texture change and to be fair, whilst they all feel incredible – I can never really tell the difference. The Gravity was slightly different; the texture had been designed with a lower profile in order to allow for ‘faster strokes’ etc. Aside from that, it was pretty much your typical TENGA experience. Well for today’s review, we’re taking a look at the Flip Zero Gravity EV (which stands for Electronic Vibration) – Yes! We have another vibrating TENGA and I could not be more excited. So without further ado, let’s grab the lube and give it a try!

First Impressions

I’m not going to witter on about the packaging but it’s pretty much your standard TENGA affair. It comes packaged exactly like the original EV device. Inside your box you’ll find the Flip Zero Gravity EV in it’s plastic storage case/charging dock, USB cable, instruction manual and a couple of sachets of Hole Lotion. The outer design of the toy is exactly the same as all other models; so once you’ve seen one – you have seen them all. But you know, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it? I’ve always appreciated the simple, elegant design of TENGA products.

The texture inside this unit is very similar to the original Gravity, however it appears to be slightly remixed. There are elements that appear in both versions, however in the EV – they’ve been swapped around. For the most part, this seems to be in order to place the two vibrating motors. As with all Flip Zero’s; the internal texture is made from squishy TPE. There are 5 modes of vibration, all accessible via the large single button. It has a run-time of around 40 minutes and only takes about 90 minutes to fully charge.

In Use

I want to compare this to the original Flip Zero EV; which originally entered the market in 2018 and went immediately to the top of my ‘favourite masturbators of all time’. So before I tested out the Gravity EV, I had to give the original one a go – just to remind myself of my I enjoyed it so much in the first place. As I expected, it still feels incredible – even 5 years later. The vibrations really add a level of sensation that just tips it over the edge. I was curious as to whether the Gravity EV would feel any different. Well, we’d just have to wait a little longer and then we can give it a go…

Once I was feeling ready to blow a load again (it took me a little while, I’m not 20 any more… *cries*); I raced upstairs as fast as my creaky knees would carry me and settled onto the bed, grabbing the bottle of lube and Gravity EV. First things first, how does the texture feel on it’s own. I hovered the Gravity EV over my quivering dick before plunging it deep inside. Immediately the toy gripped me, without me really needing to squeeze the sides. I could feel all the different textures on my shaft. The TPE didn’t feel any firmer to the touch when I ran my fingers over it… but my dick could certainly feel a difference. It felt wonderful… like when you slip into your favourite comfortable pair of jeans… you just feel… right.

Of course, we’re here to see what the vibrations can do; so let’s find out. One motor is located in the middle; designed to send vibrations all through the internal sleeve. The second is located towards the bottom (or tip); supposedly there to ensure deep vibrations ‘rumble’ with every stroke. Well I’ll be the judge of that. So with much anticipation… I turned it on. Right away, I could tell this would be a different experience. Not *vastly* different – but still noticeably different. The motors in the Gravity EV feel (and sound) stronger. The combination of the increased (albeit minor) power and the slightly firmer texture of the TPE meant that the vibrations deliciously encapsulated my entire shaft.

Once you squeeze in the sides and increase the suction; it took my breath away. Most of the time, I didn’t even need to ‘stroke’. I just lay there, squeezing the sides and that was enough. Before long, it was draining me and I was gasping. How do they keep doing this?!

Clean-up and Maintenance

As with all previous models, the Gravity EV disassembles for easy and thorough cleaning. It is waterproof; however personally – I only submerge/rinse the main unit. The removable clip; I’ll often just wipe down with a barely damp cloth and a little bit of toy cleaner. I do the same with the charging base, just to keep it looking clean and dust free! Once everything is clean, you can use the various elements to create a drying rack. Always ensure the toy is completely dry before storing it away. As this is only the second time I’ve owned an EV; once thing I would love to see; is the charging base come with a little section that I could tuck the charging cable into, so I don’t lose it. When you have as many cables in the bedroom as I do; it’s quite easy to misplace once.

Summary

Once again, TENGA have knocked it out of the park. It’s not revolutionary; but if you are a newbie to the world of TENGA or the Flip Zero’s – this is a really good model to invest in! It feels incredible as just a manual stroker but then the vibrations… they really do just take it to the next level. So if this is your first EV purchase – go for it! You will not regret it!

For seasoned TENGA pros like myself; I think that’s going to be down to you. For me, I can feel a difference between the original EV and this one. It’s not a significant difference, but it’s there. Is it worth splurging out on again? Well I think that’s going to be your judgement call. All I will say is that the texture feels a little firmer and the vibrations feel a little stronger… could this just be down to the fact the original is now over 5 years old? Maybe… But the bottom line is – this is a toy that performs and it does what it does incredibly well.
