One thing that I absolutely love to do, is take products that are marketed for one purpose, and try to use them in another way – in an effort to show that most sex toys can be unisex. Why bother with the gender-specific marketing?
In the past, we’ve shown that the We-Vibe Touch can be just as effective when used against a penis, as it is a clitoris. The same applies to the Doxy (and many other ‘Magic Wand’ style vibrators). The L’Amourose Rosa was the first toy that I recall being marketed as both a G-Spot and P-Spot toy, which got me thinking that actually, most G-Spot toys are curved in the same sort of way as P-Spot toys… and that’s why when I saw the Embrace G Wand on SheVibe, I knew I had to put it to the test to see if it would work. And I’ll preface this review by saying I’m glad I did.
The Embrace G Wand was sent to me free of charge by SheVibe in exchange for my honest review.
First Impressions
The Embrace G Wand arrives in a fairly inconspicuous box with a outer sleeve hiding a slightly nice ‘keep-sake’ style box underneath. As you lift off the lid, inside you’ll find your G Wand along with the USB charging cable and a small instruction leaflet. The G Wand has a curved, S-shaped body, starting with a large, rounded tip which slenders down towards the middle, towards the clitoral hump. The handle then curves back and features a finger loop for a comfortable grip.
The G Wand is USB rechargeable and takes around 2 hours to complete a full charge. I’m currently getting around 2 hours of vibration time on high, which isn’t too bad. It’s waterproof, allowing for easy cleanup and the possibility of playtime in the bath or shower, if that’s your thing. The G Wand is coated in skin-safe silicone along the shaft and has a silver ABS plastic handle.
The G Wand also has THREE… yes THREE motors. There is one in the tip, one in the centre of the shaft and one in the ‘clitoral’ hump. There are 7 functions of vibration, each with 6 different speeds. The shaft has around 6 inches of insertable length, and a maximum circumference around the tip of 4.75 inches.
In Use
I have to hold my hand up and say how genuinely surprised I was with this toy. It’s not amazing. It’s not better than any other toy I’ve tried for anal/prostate stimulation… but there is something about this that I really like, enough for me to continuously revisit it. And I think, it could very well be something to do with those triple motors. I was initially concerned as to how ‘safe’ this would be when used anally, as there isn’t a distinct ‘flared’ base – however, as I have found with other toys that are ‘curved’, it wasn’t really an issue for me, and at no point did I ever feel I was going to lose grip of the toy.
At the widest point, the shaft is fairly ‘average’ so I found that I am able to get this inserted without any major preparation. Whilst laying on my back, I could slip the G-Wand inside, and with my finger through the loop, I was still able to access the buttons, which are nice and raised, allowing you to find your way around pretty easily. There’s a satisfying ‘click’ when you press the buttons, and they respond instantly. When you first turn the G Wand on, it starts off at its ‘mid-point’ speed (much like the Moody does). The vibrations are surprisingly rumbly at this speed – particularly in the bulbous tip. As you increase the speed, the tip continues to stay rumbly, whilst the middle vibrations tend to shift towards the ‘buzzy’ end of the spectrum – but not uncomfortably so.
The first vibrating pattern is a continuous vibration, featuring all 3 motors running. The G Wand found my prostate with almost wild abandon. As soon as it was inserted, it was putting pressure on my prostate and I was filled with such a warm, happy feeling. The vibrations also kicked it up a notch and it felt really nice. But things got interesting as I moved through the patterns.
Pattern 2 in particular had me all in a fluster. At this point, the vibrations jump between the 3 motors. And this created the most interesting and surprising sensation. First, I would feel the vibrations deep inside, right by the prostate. Then suddenly, I would feel a gentle tickle right by my anus, where the ‘clitoral’ hump was now resting. And then the middle motor would go, and I’d feel another sensation… not as deep, but not as shallow… I really can’t describe it, but there was just something about the way the vibrations were jumping around my insides… It did almost create a similar sensation to having something moving around inside me, even though the toy was perfectly still.
The subsequent patterns consist of 2 ‘faster’ versions of pattern 2, a generic pulse that operates all 3 motors, along with the rising crescendo, uniting all 3 motors once again. And they do all feel nice, in their own way… but it’s definitely those first 2 patterns that had me the most excited.
Did the G Wand make me orgasm on it’s own? No. The G Wand did not allow me to reach the holy grail of prostate orgasms. But I can’t hold that against the toy, at all. Well, not really… With that said, when used during masturbation, the curve and vibrations allowed enough pressure on the prostate to still lead me to a strong orgasm that had my knees trembling slightly. And you know what, I still think that’s pretty good going.
Clean-up and Maintenance
The Embrace G Wand is completely waterproof, so a good clean in the sink with some warm water and toy cleaner would be sufficient. You could also bleach it in a 10% bleach solution, but don’t boil or put it in the dishwasher – you don’t want to risk damaging the motor. I’m a little sad that you don’t get a little storage bag – I kind of expect them these days in toys that are marketed as ‘luxury’. The keep-sake style box is nice, but when you are running out of room, being able to toss it in a storage bag would have been nice.
Summary
So as I said at the beginning, I am genuinely surprised at how much I liked this. Is it perfect? No. At least, not from a prostate/anal perspective – HOWEVER… it still made a regular wank session far more enjoyable, and the orgasms I have achieved whilst using this have been more than satisfactory. It’s the triple motors that keep me coming back to explore the G Wand more. That pattern though….
Could it work well as an effective prostate massager? I think it could, if you are someone who doesn’t need super powerful vibrations. As I said, it made short work of finding my Prostate, but I definitely need super strong vibes to have the desired effect. Still, I had lots of fun with this, and just further fuels my desire for toy companies to start focusing on more ‘unisex’ products, and to stop being so gender-specific.

The Lowdown | California Exotics Embrace G Wand Vibrator
Pros: Silicone, Waterproof, USB Rechargeable, Triple Motors provide a unique sensation, powerful and moderately rumbly.
Cons: Vibrations get a little buzzier on the higher speeds, not specifically designed for anal/prostate use
Bottom Line: I wanted to prove that a toy marketed towards ‘women’ and ‘G-Spots’ could be an effective anal/prostate toy and I think I achieved that. It’s not perfect or revolutionary, but it’s still pretty fun and pleasurable.
