This isn’t going to be a full on conventional review, more of an update from a previous review after a rather uncomfortable incident involving some lube.

So the lovely folk over at UberKinky had sent me some lube to try – the now infamous warming lube. Or as I now like to call it, the ball burner. The Cock Scorcher. You get the idea… After establishing I was in a little discomfort, UberKinky hoped to remedy that by sending me a bottle of the regular System JO Silicone Free Hybrid Lube, in the hopes that it would help soothe (and work better).

When the package arrived, I opened it hurriedly and immediately recoiled in horror…

Whoops! A slight cock up there, but one that presented me horrifying flashbacks of what happened previously:

I could feel a warming sensation spreading along the length of my shaft. And it continued. To the point where it felt like it was actually burning. I stood there, tears in my eyes as I pulled out and shouted ‘JESUS CHRIST’. It was like I had just stuck my cock in a beehive full of extremely pissed off bees

That’s definitely not how you want a lube to make you feel. Could the original non-warming formula help repair the damage? I was certainly hoping so.

First Impressions

The bottle that UberKinky sent me of the System JO Silicone Free Hybrid Lube was much larger. I’m wondering if they were feeling confident that I would like this one better? All I know is, this meant I had a lot of testing to do. Like the previous bottle, this hybrid lube is a blend of water and coconut oil, which gives it the washable nature of a water-based lube, with the long lasting slickness of a silicone lube.

I was pleased to see that there were far fewer ingredients in this lube: Water, Propylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Flavor (Aroma), Phenoxyethanol, Polyacrylate 13, Cellulose Gum, Raphanus Sativus (Radish Seed) Extract, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, PEG-45M.

*Capric Triglyceride is a mixture of coconut oil and glycerine. It’s used in cosmetics due to it’s emollient and skin softening abilities. This might mean if you have sensitivities to glycerine (especially if using vaginally) this lube might be best avoided. I’m especially confused as the bottle says it’s Glycerine Free – so whilst Glycerine is not explicitly listed, surely this means that it can’t be Glycerine free? Perhaps someone who is more knowledgeable can let me know. 

This version of the lube has a slightly stronger aroma of Coconut/Cocoa Butter than the warming lube. It still maintains the white creamy texture. The pump dispenser is much easier to use than the flip-cap in the smaller bottles, but you need to make slow and deliberate presses in order to dispense enough lube.

In Use

Thankfully, the same reason why I liked the other lube is still present here. It does indeed have a soft, creamy texture that creates a high level of slickness that lasts for a while, but without that horrible crotch burning sensation afterwards.

Using it solo during masturbation was pretty good (once again, I wanted to test it this way on my own first, so at least if there was a problem, I wouldn’t kill the moment!). I managed to keep going for about 15/20 minutes before I felt the need to reapply. When it does dry out, there isn’t any ‘stickiness’. It just sort of goes like a regular moisturiser – there’s no greasiness or horrible residue.

Because of its hybrid nature, It’s perfectly safe to use with most sex toys (Silicone/Glass/Wood etc) and it does work well. It keeps things nice and slick and therefore ensures penetration is comfortable and a smooth ride. I did take the opportunity to try it out with a TENGA Flip Zero masturbator – and whilst it worked incredibly well, i’ve since discovered that using coconut oil with those types of toys is still not entirely recommended. I’m still doing some more research on this, but i’ve not seen any degradation to the sleeve – but I would of course express extreme caution/patch testing.

Summary

Glycerine confusion aside, I personally do like this lube. When used for masturbation/use with sex toys that are being used anally – it performs extremely well. I’ve not experienced any uncomfortable burning or anything the several times I have used it. It was definitely a far more pleasant experience than the ‘warming’ lube, and i’d have no qualms in picking up another bottle when this one runs out.
