Nalone Pro P Prostate Massager

I was first introduced to Nalone a few years ago, when I got to experience their Electro Wand vibrator – and I was thoroughly impressed. Since then, Nalone have been on my ‘watch list’.

I’ve been waiting patiently for them to release a toy designed to stimulate the prostate, and I didn’t have too long to wait – the Pro P was unveiled and I was excited. However, at the time it came out, I was already inundated with prostate toys and I put this one on the back burner for a while. But I still had an intense desire to sample the Pro P – to see what it had to offer.

And the kind folk over at Belle De Soir are helping me fulfill my desire, and have sent me the Nalone Pro P Prostate massager to review. I was very excited to receive this, and when it arrived, I hurried to rip it from the box in order to take a good look. The Electro Wand was beautifully packaged and scored quite highly, so my hopes were high this would be be in the same sort of league.

First Impressions

The packaging for the Pro P is perhaps not quite as luxurious as the Electro Wand, however it’s still neat, tidy and I suppose you could say was stereotypically ‘masculine’. As you lift the lid off the smooth white box, you’ll find the Pro P resting in a snug foam bed, along with the remote control. Inside the box you’ll also find an instruction manual, USB cable for recharging as well as a small storage bag to keep your Pro P safe and clean between uses.

The Pro P measures 3.5 inches in insertable length, and has a circumference of 4 inches around it’s widest point. It’s a good size for newbies and intermediates all round. At the base of the Pro P is an perineal arm which houses a secondary motor, and this juts out an inch and a half. It’s coated in a deliciously silky silicone with shiny ABS plastic detailing. It’s USB rechargeable, fully waterproof and features 7 speeds and patterns. It’s also remote controlled, allowing for hands-free/partner play. It can also be controlled using a push button on the base. An average 2 hour charge time should give around about 2 hours of play time.

In Use

I was pretty impressed with how the Pro P was shaping up. It was comparable in size to the HUGO which we thoroughly raved about. To use, you simply press and hold the power button on the base of the Pro P for a few seconds until you see a blue light appear on the base motor. You then do the same with the remote (which is powered by a single N size battery, included). The Pro P will then buzz into life. With anxious excitement held the Pro P in my hands, switched it on… and my heart dropped.

Holy Buzzy Vibrations, Batman! I felt so extremely disappointed that the company that produced the Electro Wand which had some nice rumbly vibrations, would create a prostate toy with vibrations that were so shallow, and incredibly buzzy. Don’t get me wrong, there was still a good amount of power, but damn… I didn’t think this would end very well. My ass craves those deep rumbles. I was so certain that the Pro P was going to disappoint.

Firstly, insertion is incredibly easy, thanks to the pointed tip. I was able to slip this in with little to no warm up, although I would suspect newbies might take a couple of tries. Once inside, the shaft narrows, allowing for comfortable use – at no point did it every feel like it was going to slip out. However, I admit I was a little concerned with the size of the perineal stimulator. It didn’t really reach out to enough to get anywhere near my perineum. It basically just rested outside my butt hole – and I was concerned that any moment now, my butt was going to eat the whole thing. Thankfully, it didn’t – and the slight up-turn in the shaft created a sort of ‘anchor’ point.

Once it was inserted, I turned it on and it began buzzing away, tickling my butt hole like a slightly confused bee. Quick presses of the button took it through it’s different modes. The first 3 are your constant speeds (Low, Medium and High). The highest was the mode that gave the best results for me, but they were still just on the shallow side. The 4th mode is the ‘Smart’ vibration mode. The user guide gives no other indication as to what this means, but from experience, the Pro P buzzes for 2 seconds, and then is motionless for 5 seconds and then buzzes for 2 (rinse & repeat). Modes 5 to 7 were mixtures of long and short bursts of vibration.

On the remote control, there is a second button. The manual advises this operates the ‘smart ball’ mode. Again, the manual doesn’t really talk about what this is meant to do, but again, by playing around with it, I understood that by switching the Pro P into this mode meant that it followed the ‘Smart Vibration’ mode, however if you pressed the second button, it buzzed each time you pressed. I have to admit, this mode really confused me, and sadly the manual doesn’t talk about it AT ALL. This seems like a stupid oversight on Nalone’s part. EDIT: Since publishing the review, I have been contacted and advised that the ‘Smart Ball’ mode is intended to be a ‘health/training’ exercise. As the Pro P vibrates (every 30 seconds) it should cause the sphincter to contract, increasing blood flow to the area. So overall, it’s designed to maintain prostate health. It’s great that I understand this now, but it’s a real shame that this information is NOT included in the manual. 

That aside, I lay there for a while to allow the Pro P to do it’s thing. And waited. And waited. And waited. Aside from the buzzing and tickling around my butt, this just wasn’t really doing anything to my prostate. It certainly wasn’t exerting the pressure that I like, and the vibrations were so shallow, I barely felt anything. It certainly wouldn’t bring ME to orgasm by itself. However, with some stimulation elsewhere (using a masturbator/hands), I reached orgasm and it was ‘OK’. It certainly didn’t blow my mind the way HUGO or the L’Amourose Rosa did.

I’m not prepared to throw this completely to the side. It has to have some sort of redeeming quality – it’s about half the price of the previously mentioned toys, and I want to be able to recommend something that’s a bit more ‘affordable’. Whilst it doesn’t really fit my own personal anatomy, nor does it provide the strong, rumbly vibrations my prostate requires – I have to put my hands up and say the remote was pretty responsive. I was able to control the Pro P from opposite ends of the house (the manual says it has clearance of around 10 metres) and it responded. That’s through closed doors and layers of clothing.

Where the Pro P could be fun, is for teasing out and about. On the lower speed, it’s relatively quiet and in a busy/loud environment, I don’t think you could really hear it. Giving the remote to a partner for them to control is insanely exciting and this would be the perfect foreplay before getting down to something more serious. However, for me – this is just the warm up – it’s no where near strong enough to be the main event.

Clean-up and Maintenance

The Pro P is completely waterproof, so a rinse under the tap with a good, healthy spritz of toy cleaner is enough to restore it to tip-top condition. Nalone provide you with a cute little storage pouch, so you can slip the Pro P and the remote inside until the next time you decide to play. The silicone is quite smooth but still attracts a fair bit of dust and fluff, so a quick rinse before each use wouldn’t go amiss.

Summary

So, I don’t necessarily think the Pro P is a bad product. Not by any stretch of the imagination. It just isn’t really built for ‘me’ or what I know my body responds well too. It’s well made and sturdy, and at the more affordable end of the spectrum. However, the shorter secondary motor just doesn’t sit well with me, and I definitely found the vibrations too weak and shallow to really provide any intense feelings of pleasure.

That said, as a warm up toy, it can be a lot of fun, especially if you have a partner who likes to take control. Alternatively, if you are new to experienced prostate toys and vibrations, this could be a good place to start. Not everyone needs rumble to get off – you might enjoy the shallower vibrations. It’s just for me, it didn’t hit the ‘spot’ which is pretty much the whole reason for the toy – so sadly, this won’t be seeing much action from my end. Which is an absolute shame.
