The Sex Shaker Shaking Silicone Stimulator. What a mouthful! But that is indeed the name (and subject) of todays review; and our last for a little while but fear not! We will be back soon and I already have a couple of things lined up for my return from holiday…

In the meantime; let’s get down to business. This is our final review from our current block of MEO products and it was the one I was most excited about trying. Now thrusters and gyrating products are not new; many have come before and I expect many more will follow. Generally though, I’ve enjoyed most – if not all of them – a they offer a sensation that’s completely unique to just your standard vibrator. The last item I reviewed that was similar to the INMI Sex Shaker; was the Gyr8tor. My main issue with that was that I don’t think it was designed expressly for anal/prostate play. So whilst it didn’t feel terrible; it wasn’t really working me over the way I had hoped.

But I’m not as worried here; the Sex Shaker features a much more ‘prostate friendly’ design; and after charging it up and turning it on… I was wholly impressed with what this could do. It still has it’s niggles and quirks; but would it still give me a good time? You know the drill…

First Impressions

The packaging for the Sex Shaker is very simple and modest; and inside the box you will just find the toy and a charging cable. The toy is made from smooth silicone and features a springy suction cup base. The toy is waterproof and features 3 speeds of gyration; all operated from a single button on the main ‘ball’ of the shaker. It takes 2.5 hours to fully charge but only gives you about 45 minutes of play time.There is a slight design flaw when it comes to charging; when you open the port; you might not see the little charging hole – because it’s embedded into the ball that spins around – you might have to use something thin to try and move the ball inside to reveal the charging hole.

The Sex Shaker has an overall length of 10 inches; with an insertable length of 5.7 inches. The shaft features a slight curve and has a pronounced tip that also curves in slightly. At the widest point of the tip, it has a circumference of 4.75 inches, with an average shaft circumference of 4 inches. The suction cup is pretty strong and seemed to adhere nicely to most of the surfaces I tried (wood floor, tile floor, tiled bathroom wall, an IKEA desk…).

In Use

So my actual experience with the Sex Shaker is one that fills me with both joy but also annoyance. The actual sensations provided by it are… well, once you get yourself in the right position and in the ‘zone’ – knee-trembling. The shaft of the Sex Shaker is very flexible but also feels somewhat hollow; there’s no core to the shaft at all. It kind of feels very light and spongy. I thought this might make insertion a little tricky; but with a good coating of lube; it actually slipped in quite nicely. The length of the shaft is perfect for reaching my sensitive spots; and the slight curve in the shaft – combined with the nice bulbous tip – meant it was able to find my prostate with ease.

My first main issue is the fact that this is manual control; so you can only control the motion from the single button on the base of the toy; and once inserted can be a bit fiddly (and irritating). But we do what we can; but I would certainly say from the get-go; this could do with a remote control. Tapping through the 3 speeds; it seems to go from ‘Oh my, thats fast’ to ‘OH HELL YEAH’ pretty quickly. When I first took it out of the box and turned it on, I dropped it out of shock – I wasn’t expecting it to be so… violent! I was a little bit worried it was going to be too intense. Also, it’s quite noisy… and stick it to any surface – it’s gonna make more noise – so if discretion is what you are after; this isn’t going to be for you.

However those fears are soon waylaid once it is inserted. The sensation is no-where near as aggressive as you hope; because naturally your butt clenching around the shaft will diminish some of that power. And yet, despite that – the Sex Shaker still did a great job of creating a thrusting sensation; one that felt much stronger than the previously mentioned Gyr8tor. On its highest speed; it was doing some stuff. My prostate was getting a good massage, my cock was dripping with anticipation… I was in heaven. I was quite happy to just let the Sex Shaker do it’s thing all afternoon; and just as I was building up to something quite nice… the battery died. Fuck. That 45 minute run-time is going to be an absolute bitch.

Prostate orgasms don’t always come easily; and dependent on other various factors; it could take 5 minutes or it could take HOURS. But also, some folks like to edge themselves for as long as possible and truthfully 45 minutes just isn’t enough time for me to get a good thing going (if I’m heading specifically for a prostate orgasm). If I’m looking to get off; I can hop on the Shaker and stroke myself to completion in minutes. And to be fair, that’s very satisfying – so you know, that’s still a win. I just wish it lasted a bit longer to allow for more… versatility?

Clean-up and Maintenance

The Sex Shaker is waterproof (IPX5) so clean-up is as easy as rinsing with some soapy water and then allowing it to dry fully before storing it away. There is no storage bag included (boo) but it’s silicone and will be safe to store with other silicone toys and vibrators.

Summary

I did have high hopes for the INMI Sex Shaker; and in some respects, it certainly meet or exceeded my expectations. It’s not a perfect toy by any means; but it impressed me enough that I will certainly be keeping it close by. There are a few things that I would implement to allow this to be an INCREDIBLE toy. Firstly, let’s get this remote controlled; I want to be able to ride with merry abandon and ease; please! Secondly, I want a battery that allows me to go for a bit longer than 45 minutes! Even an hour would be better. I do also think some actual vibrations wouldn’t go amiss; especially if they were focused on the tip.

All in all though, despite it’s shortfall; the INMI Sex Shaker was surprisingly fun to use and if you were unsure or unimpressed by the Gyr8tor; this could be the one to change your mind about gyrating toys.
