It’s been a while since we’ve reviewed anything by the delectable silicone slingers over at Uberrime; and when SheVibe allowed me to chose some items from their catalogue to review; I jumped at the chance to grab something special.
And the Hydrus Water Dragon dildo was just screaming my name. From the delicious looking texture, the gorgeous colour… I had to have it in me. So I shot my shot and was delighted when SheVibe said yes! The last time we reviewed an Uberrime product is way back in 2019 when we looked several of their models (some of which are still available at SheVibe). The Splendid is still one of my all time favourites. So I was excited to be trying something new.
So let’s not waste any further time; let’s find out what I thought of the Hydrus…

First Impressions
When it comes to silicone dildos, I typically tend to prefer them on the ‘smaller’ side; I’m not someone who really enjoys things *too* large; so when it came to choosing a size, I chose the Medium. When it arrives, it’s packaged in a simple plastic bag with some stickered branding and some basic care instructions. The dildo stands at 7 inches tall, and has an insertable length of 6 inches. Around the tip, its narrowest point, it has a circumference of 3.25 inches. The main part of the shaft widens to a circumference of 4.25 inches. There is a bulbous ‘knot’ towards the base that has a circumference of 5.25 inches, before narrowing back down to 4.25 inches again.
As the name suggests, the texture the dildo is meant to represent the scales. The dildo is in a shore 0050 density so whilst the texture is very prominent, it’s extremely soft and squishy. The colour style is ‘Banshee’; a beautiful marbled swirl of metallic blue and purple. Looking closely, I can see little specks of silver. It looks as every bit as magical in the flesh as it does in pictures. There is no suction cup, but it does have a wide enough base that should make it compatible with various harnesses. For myself, I’d be looking at using it with my LoveArc and their special harnesses.
In Use
Once I had the Hydrus in hand, I did start to have doubts. I was beginning to wonder if I had actually under-estimated the size that I was comfortable with. Especially as the Hydrus is extremely squishy (in a good way) – I actually thought maybe I had gone a little too small. But once I started using it, I soon decided that actually, it was the perfect warm up toy. It almost feels like the Hydrus sort of bridges the gap between a plug and a dildo.
The shaft is gently tapered, with a beautifully pointed tip that makes insertion nice and simple. As you move down the shaft, it very slowly opens you up before you reach the knot. With a little gentle pressure; there is a satisfying little ‘pop’ and then it feels nice and ‘secure’ inside. I got up off the bed, and had a little bit of a walk around. There is a lot of flexibility in the Hydrus, so I was able to move around pretty comfortably and at no point did it feel like it was going to fall out. The difference here, however, was that it was long enough that each step was met with a twinge of pleasure as the tip was bristling against my sensitive spots inside. I don’t think I would have made it very far before jizzing in my pants.
So back to the bed. I strapped up the Hydrus into my LoveArc and got ready to ride. Slipping onto the Hydrus this is is a little tricky, because it has that little extra ‘flop’ but with a gentle guiding hand, it pops in and I can begin riding away. The softness of the silicone really does make this a pleasant ride. It just feels comfortable. And despite being soft, you do still get a decent amount of sensation from the bumpy surface. There’s a good 4 inches of textured shaft before you get to the knot that allows me to just thrust away with merry abandon. And when I want to ramp it up, I’ll slide my sphincter over the knot and then grind my hips in a circle; just feeling the tip massaging my prostate, whilst the knot leaves me feeling ‘full’.
There was a small part of me that thought that actually, I might have been able to take on the ‘large’. As I said, when the silicone is softer like this, you tend to find that you can take a size bigger than you would expect. If this dildo was a lot firmer, I definitely don’t think I could go bigger. The knot, whilst not massively challenging, I think I would struggle with a firmer silicone. I also think the texture would be ridiculous as well; so I think the density they’ve gone for here suits the design perfectly.
Clean-up and Maintenance
As with all silicone dildos, their aftercare routine is so incredibly simple. You can either wash with soap and water (paying extra attention to the crevices to ensure everything is removed). You can pop it in the top rack of your dishwasher (without detergent) or you can sterilise in a pot boiling water and then let it air dry. It can be safely stored with other silicone products but a good water based lubricant is recommended.
Summary
I love this dildo. It feels so multi-functional to me. I can use it as a thrusting dildo, and the soft squishy scales add a lovely amount of sensation without being overwhelming. Add the knot into the mix and it becomes a delicious plug that leaves me feeling full and massages me in my most intimate spots with ease. And also it just looks beautiful and it’s going to fit right in with the other fantasy dildos in my slowly growing collection. Maybe next time, I could be a bit braver and try something larger. We’ll see.
I think this would make a brilliant beginners fantasy dildo; for anyone looking to try something that’s less ‘human’ looking, but still has a recognisable shape. As silicone dildos go, it is up there in the price range (the medium is $95 currently); however I firmly believe in the ‘you get what you pay for’ and Uberrime’s quality is simply incredible. Don’t think of it as just a dildo; it’s a work of art. One that just happens to have me squealing in delight. Worth every penny.

The Lowdown | The Hydrus Water Dragon Dildo by Uberrime
Pros: Gorgeous design, lovely texture, feels really good!
Cons: No cons really, but definitely think that actually, I’d also really enjoy the slightly larger size (because of the squish).
Bottom Line: I think this is a beautifully approachable fantasy toy for beginners but also anyone who doesn’t like their fantasy dildos on the huge side. I’m grateful for places like Uberrime that appreciate that some of us are a little more reserved when it comes to our dildos.
