Yes. It’s another dual density dildo review. And you know what, i’m totally not sorry. I bloody love them. And they can be used by ANYONE – regardless of what orifices you have. Dildos don’t discriminate!

Last year, Blush Novelties got in touch with me directly, and sent me my first ever dual density dildo – the SUKO. And I was so impressed. It was the first dildo I had ever held that ‘felt’ somewhat realistic. I knew I had to make more dual density dildos mine. I also realise that some dual density can be fairly pricey (i’m looking at you Tantus and Vixen….). The Real Nude range are a fraction of the cost, and I was curious as to whether some of the other models in the range would live up to the high expectations that the SUKO set.

So when I arranged to work with SheVibe, I naturally had to request one of these, especially as they are currently on sale for just under $40 (£30.19 as of 13th July 2016). I chose the ZULLO as it was one of the more ‘realistic’ looking ones.

First Impressions

The packaging is very simple – just a simple clam-shell plastic case that is incredibly easy to open – no need to get out the chainsaw to open this little bad boy. I have to admit, I obviously wasn’t paying too much attention to the size when I requested this, because it’s a lot smaller than I was expecting. The ZULLO stands at around 8 inches tall, with an insertable length of about 6.5 inches. It has a maximum circumference of 4.75 inches, making it a perfect beginners size dildo. The ZULLO has a flat testicular base, but there is no suction cup.

Inside the package, you also get a little white storage bag, which is a nice touch, especially as when out of the box, the ZULLO has a rather ‘tacky’ texture – exactly as the SUKO did. A little dusting with a bit of cornstarch(flour) soon had the dildo silky and smooth. The TruSkyn range by Doc Johnson also has a similar issue, and personally it’s not a huge problem, as once it’s lubed up, it’s going to be sticky anyway… it does just mean that it attracts more hair and dust then normal.

In Use

As someone who is quite experienced, this dildo was an absolute cakewalk to use. With just a little bit of lube, it slipped right inside. The width was a little underwhelming, but the length was enough that with a good bit of forceful thrusting, it could hit all the right spots. Due to the lack of suction cup, it’s definitely something that you need to use lying down. It does stand up on the base, but because of it’s quite flexible nature, it’s not quite as easy to ride hands free as the SUKO, for example.

Visually, it’s a little ‘meh’. It has the shape of a penis, but it’s not terribly exciting. As you know, I do love a realistic look, so it was quite said to not see some of the other visual detailing, such as the wrinkles and folds around the frenulum. The tip is tapered enough, but it’s not as squishy as the SUKO as the firmer silicone underneath starts in the tip. To some extent, this is a good thing, as it does ensure that insertion is a breeze and very comfortable.

Because of it’s smaller size, it’s definitely an appetizer – not a main course. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. If I haven’t been playing round the back for a while, I do find that I need a long warm up before I can take anything bigger, so this will provide an even softer entry point. But for those who are just starting out and considering their first dildo for either anal or vaginal use, this is a good size to get you started.

Where I think this can add value for me, is it’s use in a harness. We have the SpareParts Deuce harness (review coming soon) and I tend to prefer to use the smaller dildos with the harness. The reason? Well when you can’t physically feel the sensation during penetration, it can be difficult to gauge the appropriate rhythm, and if we use too big a dildo, it can cause discomfort. With something a little smaller, we can play away with (almost) merry abandon and no one gets hurt (as long as we use LOTS of lube). Also, the more realistic feel and appearance also adds a certain element to playtime this way.

Clean-up and Maintenance

Clean-up is a breeze for the most part – simply rinse/boil/bleach/toss it in the dishwasher – whatever you prefer to do with your silicone, you can do the same here. However, I will certainly suggest giving it a little bit of a dusting before putting it away. It just keeps some of the inevitable hair and dust at bay until you next need to use it (at which point, I would suggest rinsing it before use anyway).

Summary

It’s so good to see affordable, quality dual density silicone – and yeah, whilst it left me desiring a lot more in terms of size and texture, it is still a quality piece of silicone for a reasonable price. Is it perfect? No – the tacky nature can be off putting to some, and the lack of suction cup makes hands-free play a little more awkward (but not impossible).

However, for harness/pegging play, it’s a good size to get you started, and for those who are potentially looking for their first ever dildo for anal play, this has a nice beginner friendly size, realistic look and feel and it’s under $40, so it’s not going to break the bank.
