Since the first time I ever saw one, I’ve always wanted an ejaculating dildo. But I was always put off by the fact that almost every one is made from a horrendous material. And so I waited…

Earlier this year, I managed to try my first ejaculating dildo. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. The problem is, it wasn’t human shaped – and that’s really what I wanted. A human-style analogue that would ejaculate in order to enhance solo / couples sessions. And then I discovered the POP by Semenette; my prayers had been answered!

My good friends at Uberkinky got in touch me with a little while back and asked me if I would like to review anything for them, and the POP by Semenette Ejaculating Dildo was the first thing on my list. And like kinky genies granting wishes, it was sent to me and I was BEYOND excited.

But first, a little introduction…

Who are Semenette?

The Semenette was one of (if not THE first) silicone ejaculating dildo that was designed to look like the real thing. According to the website, 60% of women and lesbian couples use a sex toy in their relationship. There was a demand for a product that would allow the user to create an authentic ejaculatory experience – and thus the Semenette was born. It was a dildo with a hollow tube down the middle, which led to a bulb that could be filled with a liquid to mimic ejaculation.

This also opened up another avenue – allowing these women to conceive a child the traditional way – with love and intimacy. It is also perfect for members of the transgender community (especially FTM). It could be worn for packing and worn in a harness for penetrative sex. The addition of the ejaculating ability again allowed for a more ‘authentic’ experience for both parties.

Following the success of the original Semenette, it soon became apparent that the ejaculating dildo had a much wider audience, and the POP was born. It follows the same principals as the original Semenette, but this was collaboration with German toy manufacturer Fun Factory. Featuring a new shape (similar to the Boss) and a new array of colours – the POP aims to create a fun and realistic experience every time.

First Impressions

The POP by Semenette Ejaculating Dildo arrives as almost every Fun Factory product does. It has an outer sleeve detailing what’s inside the box, which when removed reveals the traditional gold ‘Your Perfect Moment’ box. As you lift the lid, you’ll find the instruction manual (which you will definitely want to read). Underneath that is the POP Dildo and a plastic sealed bag containing the tubes and various little pieces you’ll need to put it all together.

The dildo is made from 100% platinum cure silicone and is firm, but still maintains an element of flexibility. It stands at around 7 inches tall and has a pretty stable girth of 5 inches throughout the entire length of the shaft. It has a sort of ‘S’ curve to it, and features some basic raised vein detail. The silicone is quite ‘matte’ so does have an element of drag too it, so a good coating of lube before insertion is definitely required.

Inside the plastic bag you get:

  1. Tubing (Silicone, made with FDA compliant resins) x 3
  2. ‘Luer’ Lock Fittings (Plastic) x 3
  3. Tip Plugs (Casted Urethane Polymer) x 3
  4. Bulb (Platinum cure silicone).

The tubing and tip plugs are to be discarded after use (I’ll explain more on that later).

How to put together your POP

I’ve never had to ‘put together’ a sex toy quite like this one, however it is surprisingly easy – but something that could be done before use so in order to not ‘kill the mood’.

  • Thoroughly wash the dildo before use. I would recommend boiling/putting in the dishwasher to ensure it’s completely clean.
  • Take one of the plastic tubes, and start feeding it through the hole in the tip of the dildo. (It almost looks like you are giving some a catheter – I may have crossed my legs at this point). The tube has a coating of corn flour to allow it to slip through the dildo easily (twisting the tube as you are inserting also makes this bit far easier).
  • Once the tube pokes out through the bottom, you can attach the ‘Luer’ lock to the end of the tube (it’s the small white plastic bit).
  • Screw on the bulb to the ‘Luer’ Lock.
  • Take a tube tip (the small clear plastic bit) and insert that into the other end of tubing, but don’t push this into the tip of the dildo yet.

Lock and Load(ing)

Once you’ve put together the POP, you’ll want to load your bulb with your chosen ejaculation liquid. The type of liquid you use will really vary the success of the ejaculation. At the time of writing the review, I didn’t really have much available – Liquid Silk was the best I had available at the time. But I also tried it with the Bad Dragon Cum Lube, and a slightly watered down System JO Hybrid lube with varying levels of success.

Check out this awesome review by Artemsia Femmecock that covers lube in more detail over on her blog. (It’s handy to get others opinions, right?).

Once you’ve chosen your substance, I found it easier to decant some into a shot glass (making sure it’s clean as well). Dip the tip of the tubing into your chosen ‘spunk’ and then squeeze the bulb to draw it in. Once full, you can carefully pull the tubing down, so the tip goes into the little hole at the tip of the dildo. Be careful not to pull on it too hard, or you will risk getting the tip plug stuck inside the dildo.

You are now ready to have some fun.

In Use

The POP’s modest 5 inch girth meant I could use the POP pretty much straight out o the box, without any real need to warm up. The tip is slightly tapered, but also slightly rounded – so a good coating of lube is definitely needed. As I mentioned earlier, the silicone does also have an element of ‘drag’ because of it’s matte texture, so take it slow.

Once inside, the dildo is pretty… well, average. I mean it’s a very simple design with little texture, so it’s not offering me a sensation that I haven’t really felt before. It’s length and girth are enough to keep me feeling full, and it’s just about hitting the right spots. On it’s own as just a generic dildo, it’s OK. It’s not mind-blowing, but it’s not horrible.

The fun really begins when you actually use the ejaculation function. And this is where you can absolutely go nuts, and let your imagination run wild. You can sit there and stroke it, and when the moment is right, you can squeeze the bulb and it can ‘pop’ its load. As someone who is drawn the visual side of things, having my chosen spunk analogue drip down the side of the shaft and onto my hand was pretty sweet, and got me aroused far easier than I thought it would.

Or how about holding it aloft your body, and have it shoot its load all over your chest, or your face? This is where you need to be fairly careful when choosing your liquid – if it’s too thick (like the Bad Dragon cum lube) then it just sort of… dribbles out, rather than ‘shooting’. But the great thing is just having fun experimenting with different liquids, until you find the one that’s ‘right’ for you.

There isn’t really much of a sensation when you ejaculate internally, aside from the additional lubrication that you suddenly get. It’s definitely more of a ‘psychological’ sensation, rather than a physical one. It’s a feeling that definitely enhances my overall experience at the time.

The POP has a large flat base, allowing it to be used anally safely, and with a strap-on harness. Using the POP by hand, the base does give a nice area to grip, even with slippery fingers. It’s a bit awkward trying to hold the bulb out the way until you are ready to ‘squirt’, but the dildo does thrust nicely. I’ve yet to use it in a specific strap-on harness, but I did try it with the harness attachments for the LoveArc with a high level of success. I was able to attach the dildo, and move the tube to one side, allowing me to then hop on and just ride the POP hands free. When I was reaching the moment, I could simply reach back, grab the bulb and release.

Aside from the uses we’ve already mentioned, the POP dildo will definitely be of interest to anyone who has considered a threesome, or want to enjoy a more realistic pegging experience. It would be good for BDMS/sensory play. The opportunities are really only limited by your imagination. It’s best to just have fun and explore.

That said; there are a few things that may deter some people from the POP. Inside the box, you only get 3 tubes. This means a maximum of three sessions before you need to get a refill pack. So far, I’ve only seen the refill pack available directly from POP (which means having to wait for it to come from the US before you can use it again). When you factor this into the cost of the dildo in the first place, it is going to get expensive.

The bulb is also on the small side, only holding about 1.3 tablespoons worth of liquid. In terms of ‘real life’ comparisons – that is more than the average ‘3 quarters of a tea spoon’ during a normal ejaculation. But when you are indulging in fantasies, you want MORE! A larger bulb is available (that holds 4.4 tablespoons) but again, this is only available direct (shipping is starting to add up..).

One other thing I should mention is that whilst I believe it’s easy to put together, if you have limited movements in your hands or fingers, then some of the smaller fiddly bits may not be so easy. Just something to bear in mind.

Clean-up and Maintenance

As I mentioned earlier, some parts of the POP are to be discarded after use (specifically the tubing and the tip plug). It’s also recommended that you use a different tube if you plan on switching liquids during a session. The bulb can be rinsed out with warm water, whilst the dildo can be put back in the dishwasher/be boiled/rinsed with warm water – however you choose. You’ll need to implement the use of a small tool to help remove the plug from the tip. You must not pull it through the dildo otherwise it will get stuck. I used the end of a small nail file just help create a small lever to pop it out.

Due to the nature of the silicone, and the amount of small parts, I personally will be keeping my POP in its box. I’ve made sure to keep all of the little bags the pieces came in as well – heaven forbid I drop them – the doggies would be all over them.

Summary

I do really like this dildo. It’s great to have a somewhat realistic ejaculating dildo that is made from completely body safe materials. It looks great, it’s simple to use and it can really let your imagination run wild as you use it. So with that in mind, I would say that you should definitely get one!

On the other hand, the fact that you are limited to up to 3 uses out of the box, and getting hold of the replacement tubes and bulbs can be a bit more expensive for us at the moment, in order to consider the POP, you really need to have a real WANT for a silicone ejaculating dildo. It’s definitely not a purchase you would make ‘on the fly’.

If you are serious about it, and put off by the more ‘fantasy’ themed dildos, then this really is a no-brainer. I just hope Uberkinky start selling the replacement tubes and bulbs VERY soon.
