It’s been quite a while since I reviewed something that was made from glass. And obviously the sex toy gods had decided that it had been too long because a message soon popped up in my Twitter inbox, asking if would interested in reviewing some toys. That company was Crystal Delights.
If you don’t know who Crystal Delights are, they are a US based company specialising in artisanal glass creations – most famous for their crystal butt plugs that feature soft, luscious tails. The two products that I was sent for review was the Crystal Mini Twist Butt Plug and the Crystal Twist Dildo. I have lumped them both together into one review as in essence, they are both very similar products – and most of what I have to say about one, can be said about the other. So for the sake of brevity, I made the decision to combine.
The products made their way from me via Uberkinky, who sadly no longer stock these particular products, but still carry a selection of other Crystal Delights products.
First Impressions
When they arrived, I couldn’t wait to tear into the packaging to see these glass beauties in the flesh. Inside, I was greeted by 2 soft, satin pouches, secured together by elastic ties around each end. As I removed the ties and unfurled the little bags, I found each toy wrapped in a little bubble-wrap to provide protection. The pouches are beautiful, and are a really nice touch. They are cushioned and feature a delicate rose design that adds a little bit of a ‘feminine’ touch, but I personally really like it.
Crystal Twist Mini Butt Plug
The Mini Butt Plug is a twisted glass plug that features some black detailing along the edges of the twist. It had a round base which has a crystal embedded into it, meaning that when the plug is in place, your butt sparkles like a diamond. And who doesn’t want that? I can almost hear Rihanna screaming ‘Shine Bright Like a Diamond’.
The plug is around 3.5 inches in length and has a circumference of around 4 inches. The plug has a ‘flatter’ shaft so it has more of an oval shape, than a traditional cylindrical shape.
Crystal Twist Dildo
This dildo features a completely clear twisted shaft, with a dazzling rainbow coloured gem set in the base, that changes colour dependent on the light. It’s simply beautiful. The shaft here is around 5.5 inches in length and again, has a circumference of around 4 inches. The dildo has a slightly more cylindrical shape, compared to the plug.
Both dildo and plug are lightweight, well made and thoroughly beautiful to behold, like little ice sculptures that catch the light – I would totally leave these out on display (or maybe even hang them from the christmas tree?).

In Use
So they look fabulous and they have potential uses out side of the bedroom – but the most important thing is how do they feel? Let’s start with the plug.
Crystal Twist Mini Plug
So I have used a ‘twisted’ plug before – the Tantus Twist – and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The twisting sensation it provided was something new and slightly odd, but overall immensely satisfying. I had hoped that this would provide a similar sensation. And it did… sort of. It was definitely a lot more intense than the silicone twisted plug. Which brings me to my first point. You need to use ALOT of lube, especially if you want to use this anally. Because of the shape, these isn’t actually a lot of dildo that is coming into contact with your orifices – and if you don’t apply enough lube, it’s actually quite rough.
I learnt this the hard way when I first tried to use this with a little bit of silicone lube, with the plan of ‘screwing’ the plug in (much like I did with the Tantus plug). The first time I tried, it felt like it was churning my ass hole out – not a feeling that I really wanted to replicate in a hurry. So the second time, I applied a lot more lube (and went for something much slipperier this time) and as such, this time, I was able to screw it in.. well, sort of. It was actually much easier to insert the plug in, and then apply some twisting when it was inside. Now here’s the thing – it wasn’t as pleasurable as I had hoped. I think this is down to the much firmer material, and the shape of the shaft. The reason it worked so well on the Tantus plug, was that it’s silicone and the shape of the shaft was definitely much more ‘screw’ shaped.
However, when the plug was just inserted and left alone, it still left me with a nice pleasant, full feeling, and thanks to the twisted shaft, it stayed inside relatively easily, and I was able to move around with the plug inside, which certainly made a trip to the supermarket a little bit more enjoyable than usual. It’s also nice having a sparkly butt now and again.
Crystal Twist Dildo
Unlike a regular dildo, which is used for ‘thrusting’ or ‘riding’ – the Twist is designed to be used differently. Like the plug, it’s designed to be ‘screwed’ inside, providing a new sensation as it twists and turns internally. Like the plug, you’ll want to make sure that you use plenty of lube to make things as slippery as possible, but due to the more ’rounder’ shape of the dildo, and the longer shaft, it ‘screws’ in much easier, and provides a deeper, more intense feeling. It also feels a little bit nice than the plug, when twisted.
Thrusting is not completely out of the realm of possibility, but it’s not something that you can do with speed or vigour. The twist texture is just too much. But, if you slide it inside and out very slowly, then each twist as it passes the sphincter provides a nice little popping sensation. Personally, however I found that using the dildo like a longer butt plug was just the ticket. And once again, using the dildo in this way certainly made the weekly shop a lot more interesting.
Clean-up and Maintenance
Thanks to the non-porous nature of glass, you don’t need to do much in order to get these toys back in tip-top, sparkling condition. A thorough rinse with warm water and toy cleaner would be sufficient, but you could even place these in the dishwasher if you wanted to! Storage is easy thanks to the supplied storage pouches that really do add a nice level of ‘class’ to the whole proceedings.
Summary
So for sheer design and beauty, this plug and dildo are, essentially, flawless. They look exquisite and luxurious – a step up from previous glass pieces we have reviewed. The plug feels great when inserted, and is a nice little piece for foreplay.
The dildo is the winner here though. Not everything needs to be ‘thrusted’ or provide direct prostate stimulation to create intense sensations – and the dildo succeeds at this with bells on. Thrusting is not how I would particularly recommend using this, but it can be done and it can be nice, but only if you really enjoy intense sensations. For a pretty little butt churner, they ain’t too bad.

The Lowdown | Crystal Delights Twist Glass Butt Plug & Dildo
Pros: Made from body safe glass, provides a unique and different sensation. Sparkly works of art.
Cons: The twisted texture might be too intense for beginners, can be tricky to use with slippery hands.
Bottom Line: If you want a new dildo that’s not phallic, or a butt plug that offers something a little bit more intense than your regular plug, these are nice little pieces. Not for those who like their sensations a little more vanilla.
