Adrien Lastic 2X Double Vibrator

I’m always looking for toys that I can use simultaneously with my partner. It’s all very well and good watching and use a toy separately on each other, but I long for products that we can both use, at the same time to share the experience and pleasure.

When browsing the extensive catalogue at sextoys.co.uk, I thought I had stumbled across the answer – a dual-ended couples vibrator that was marketed to be used by any couple – regardless of gender and orientation. So I immediately contacted my rep to see if we can arrange a review and they kindly agreed and sent me the Adrien Lastic 2X Double vibrator, along with a pack of attachments they had. They were labelled as ‘vaginal’ but that’s not going to stop me from trying – the shapes look great for prostate play.

When it arrived, I hastily popped it on to charge and eagerly awaited to put it’s through it’s paces. Sadly, when all is said and done, this is a product that suffers from a fair few issues. So let’s kick back and get straight to it.

First Impressions

The 2X Double vibrator is packaged in a simple cardboard box that features your vibrator, an extra attachment, a discreet storage bag, USB charging cable and the remote. The toy is coated in a luxuriously soft silicone, not unlike the silicone you get on LELO products, so it does feel quite ‘high end’ as you stroke it.

A battery is not included for the remote, so you will need to supply one – it requires 1 x LR32 disc shaped batteries (not one I admittedly keep lying round the house usually – but on the off chance, I happened to find one knocking about in a cupboard somewhere). On the back of the remote, is a pink battery compartment that needs to be twisted using a coin to open. Unfortunately, we struck our first issue here – the plastic is REALLY soft, and the compartment was ‘stuck’ so in trying to open it, it was damaged. We eventually managed to open it, but opening it again to replace the battery will be a gamble. The functionality of the toy is dependent on the remote – you cannot operate the toy without it – so be careful!

The toy features 2 vibrators connected by cable which is coated in silicone. On the larger end, it features one motor that focuses the vibrations all along the shaft. It totals 6 inches of insertable length and has a circumference of 4 inches around the widest point. The smaller, beaded end has an insertable length of 3.5 inches and a circumference of 3.5 inches at the widest point. The included attachment is an extended beaded sleeve, which brings the insertable length up to 4.25 inches, and a circumference of 4.5 inches.

In Use

The 2X is able to be used solo vaginally and anally, solo anally, vagina to vagina, butt to butt… all sorts of configurations. The only limit is your imagination (and 11 inches of flexible cable). Obviously, I can only give you my thoughts on using it solo anally, and with my mr (cheek to cheek).

The vibrations in the 2X are mild and moderately rumbly. They aren’t the power house that I have become accustomed to, but they are pleasant enough. To use the toy, you need to first switch it on, using the funny looking ‘A’ on the base of the bulbous end of the toy. It will vibrate briefly for a second. If you then press the power button on the remote, the 2X will buzz into life and you can then press the + and – (plus and minus) buttons to scroll through the 10 different vibration patterns.

Using it solo, I coated the main end with a generous helping of lube and slipped it inside. Thanks to it’s shape and size, it slipped in very easily, and was held comfortably in place due to it’s thin base. The vibrations were pleasant and the vibrator felt comfortable. Admittedly, I sat there wishing it could give me a little bit more power, but it was fairly nice and it certainly made a regular masturbation session a little more interesting. The beaded end of the toy was flapping around the bed, like it was asking for attention, so I switched things up a little, and went with the beaded end.

Again, the graduating size meant that it slipped in really easily, however I did have a little trouble keeping it inside. Also, the vibrations on this end are focused in a completely different place – right at the bottom – so my butt hole was being tickled and that was about it. Again, i’m not saying it felt horrible, but it was definitely more ‘ticklish’ than it was arousing. Using the extended attachment didn’t change much, and if anything, the vibrations felt weaker, now there was additional silicone – not a good thing when the vibrations are already weak as it is.

Never one to be put off, the MR and I settled down to give this a try together. I let him choose his end (he went for the nice, thick bulbous end) leaving me with the weak beaded end. Admittedly, getting into ‘position’ wasn’t terribly easy – especially when you have long legs like me – for a while we were just a tangle of arms and legs and it wasn’t at all sexy. After messing around with positions for a while, we agree the most comfortable would be for each of us to lie at either end of the bed, with our legs meeting in the middle. Imagine a shape like this < > and you should hopefully get an idea of what was going on.

We both slipped our respective ends in and we powered straight through. He seemed to be quite enjoying his end, whilst I lay there with an expression of ‘meh’. Things got a little more interesting when we ‘sat up’ with the MR straddling me – the toy was still in place but we could cuddle, and kiss, and the gentle thrust of our hips manipulated the toy inside and things got a little more intense. But as we lay back down again, I suddenly remembered that there was something buzzing away down there. In the end, I got bored of it, and removed my end and let him continue to enjoy the vibrations he was getting from the other end.

It struck me that when using this with a partner, someone is going to get short changed – the vibrations are not equal, so each person will experience something different, and sadly one person is going to be less than impressed. In the end, the 2X was thrown to the side and we just went at it the old fashioned way.

The 2X Attachments

We were also sent 2 more additional attachments to be used with the 2X. Both are supposed to be for ‘vaginal’ use and features a ‘g-spot’ attachment with a curved, hooked tip and a second attachment that has a twist in the silicone for textured stimulation. Again, both felt OK in use, in terms of size and function, but because these attach onto the beaded end (or the ‘weaker’ end with the misplaced motor) it’s hard to get any real satisfaction from them. The G-Spot, in particular – the firm squishy head would have been amazing… if the vibrations could actually reach it – but they were practically non-existent and in the end, frustrated me more than it aroused me.

When added to the 2X, the G-Spot attachment provides 6 inches of insertable length, has a circumference of 4 inches round the tip and 4.5 inches towards the base. The ‘Twisty’ attachment offers 5 inches of insertable length and 3.5 inches at the tip and 4.5 inches towards the base of circumference.

Clean-up and Maintenance

The 2X is splash-proof NOT waterproof, so for cleaning I would recommend a damp cloth and some toy cleaner. When finished, you can store it away inside the provided storage bag (which is recommended as the 2X does attract a fair bit of dust and fluff!) The storage bag is big enough to store at least the 2X, the remote and an additional attachment.

Summary

I really had high hopes for this, and to be honest, I think it’s a great idea – it’s just not executed terribly well. The vibrations need more depth to them, and the 2X definitely is lacking some power. They also need to work on making the vibrations a bit more ‘equal’ – both ends should feature motors in the same place – and to be honest, if both ends were the same, and you couldn’t stick attachments on it – I think I would have been far happier with it.

If you really don’t need strong vibrations, then the 2X could be a fun solo toy if you are blessed with a vagina – but as an actual couples toy, it just needs a lot more thought.

On a slightly different tangent, the 2X has woken me up in the middle of the night several times, after it inexplicably turned itself on. I’ve always been careful about how it’s stored and yet, somehow, it switches on and starts buzzing away, scaring the crap out of me. So that’s not cool either, just saying.
