A few weeks ago, I was contacted by US-based company ‘Good Clean Love’, who asked if I would review a few of their products for them. I had seen a few of my fellow bloggers write glowing reviews, so I of course had to see what all the fuss was about.
So why Good Clean Love? The company philosophy is to provide safe, natural sexual well-being and enhancement products. Their lubes and lotions contain no parabens or petrochemicals and are 95% organic. They also source only ingredients that are cruelty-free and not tested on animals.
They sent me a small review package containing a tube of personal lubricant, love oil and body candy – which is the feature of this review. So without further ado, let’s jump in and see how we got on.
First Impressions
So I opted for the Vanilla Chai body candy (as I am a big fan of sweet and spicy things) although should that not be your cup of ‘chai’, there are also Cocoa Mint and Spicy Orange ‘flavours’ available too. So what is body candy? Well it’s essentially a balm that you can smooth onto your lip to enhance a good old-fashioned kiss – OR you can slather (that’s a good word, right) it onto your lovers most ‘kissable’ areas to further enhance pleasure.
The body candy arrives in a small round tin that doesn’t look too unlike a big tub of lip balm so is moderately discreet. The balm is made with a blend of Avocado & Shea Butter, Organic JoJoba Oil (which is used as it’s absorbed easily, as it closely mimics our own natural sebum), Coconut Oil, Candelilla Wax, Essential Oil Blend, Lecithin, Tocopherol and Stevia Extract (natural sweetener).
In Use
So the balm inside the tin has a consistency similar to Vaseline, but has a delightfully intoxicating aroma of delicate vanilla, balanced with a slightly spicier cinnamon scent. It certainly smelled incredibly tasty. When the Mr came home for lunch on the day it arrived, I smeared a little on my lips and greeted him with a kiss. “Ooh, what’s that?” he said, as he took in the delicate aroma. So it passed the smell test. But how did it taste?
Well after a sensual shower, we retired to the bedroom one evening and as he lay there on the bed, I applied a generous amount to all of this sensitive areas, and a little more to my lips. We kissed and the soothing scent filled our nostrils and it was wonderful. But I wasn’t really getting any taste. So I moved down to the nipples and began to kiss and nibble seductively. Again, the smell was strong and pleasant… but I wasn’t getting ANY taste. In a bold (and I guess, somewhat foolish) move, I dipped my finger straight in the pot and licked my finger. Nothing. I was so disappointed – the smell was incredible, and the balm was intensely soothing and moisturising – but I just did not get any taste of… well, anything! Even the Mr couldn’t taste anything. An absolute shame.
Summary
I was so excited about this product, and with the name like ‘Body Candy’, I was expecting something that would arouse my tastebuds, as well as my libido. Unfortunately, this did neither. The smell is great and as a general purpose ‘moisturising balm’, I think it’s great – it softened my lips and skin… but sadly, that’s not it’s intended purpose. It just didn’t live up to expectations. Which is an absolute shame as I am totally behind what Good Clean Love are trying to achieve, but this product was a complete miss for me.
If you would like to try some of the Body Candy, you can order it directly from the Good Clean Love website for just $13.99.

The Lowdown | Good Clean Love Vanilla Chai Body Candy
Pros: Great scent, softening and moisturising.
Cons: For a product that is called ‘Body Candy’, it doesn’t taste of anything at all.
Bottom Line: If you want a nicely scented body butter… than great. But as something designed to entice and arouse, it misses the mark for me.
