Another day, another glass dildo review!

I’m awaiting delivery of some new products so we’ll have some new reviews coming in the next couple of weeks so do bare with! So to that end, I won’t faff around too much with an intro and will keep it brief – let’s just get straight on with the review shall we?

First Impressions

Like everything in the Icicles range of products by Pipedream, the No.40 is nestled in a sweet little keep sake box, protected by a squishy foam-padded bed. The dildo itself is a little bit shorter than most of the other dildo’s in the Icicles range that I own (coming in at about 6″ in total with 5″ of insertable length). Girth wise, it’s about 4.5″ – making it on par with most of the other glass dildo’s – although it’s short stature and the fact the ‘glans’ is the same width as everything else, I can’t help but feel on first look, it looks thicker than it actually is.

The shaft of the dildo is rippled with ‘realistic’ veins and the glans has a textured ridge. It’s not quite as tapered as others, it has more of a ‘domed’ top. I initially thought this might be a problem, but this would later turn out to not be an issue. It has a fairly sizeable base, which gives a good amount of grip in use. The dildo is also quite heavy, so the added weight of this should provide some intense stimulation.

How to Use

This dildo is being used anally. After applying a good helping of lube to both the dildo and myself, I began to insert. The domed top did provide a slightly new sensation – I’m used to anal toys having much more of a tapered tip, so this felt a little bit more ‘forced’ – especially as there is no ‘adjustment’ in size. The thick ridges round the top do give some intense feelings as you insert. The veins, whilst feeling very pronounced on the outside, once inside, at least anally, you can no longer really feel them.

Strangely enough, even though the dildo is no thicker than any of the others, because of the shape of the tip, and the basic texture, it does leave me feeling very full – which I love. Now this dildo doesn’t have a curve in the shaft, so I found that this really didn’t do much for me anally – it casually brushed past the prostate but didn’t really give me any intense p-spot stimulation. However, I find that I don’t always need that to have a good time – for me, this just felt great sitting inside – like a glass butt plug. Just lying there with it inserted, occasionally rocking my hips back and forth whilst I stimulated myself elsewhere. If the shaft was curved just a little bit, the thickness and added weight of this would have been heavenly. But as it currently stands – it was just ‘OK’.

Playing with the temperature made things a little bit more exciting. When it was warmed up, it certainly felt more realistic, and the warm sensations did lead me to a satisfactory orgasm. I haven’t experimented with this dildo any colder than what it was when it first came out of the box – as the temperature has changed outside, my insides are less accepting of ice cold invasions! But I’ve extolled the virtues of using the dildo hot/cold in other reviews – so you have an idea of what to expect.

Clean-up and Maintenance

As you know by now, Glass can be cleaned however you like. I do prefer to use warm water and anti-bacterial toy cleaner just to be safe – however you can boil or put in the dishwasher – it’s really up to you, and I guess would depend on what lubricant you have used (which can be ANY, obviously).

In terms of storage, I store it in a little satin bag in a box with all my other glass dildos. The glass is pretty tough and they’ve been knocking around for a while and are all still in tip-top condition. I was keeping them all together in their original boxes, but I was rapidly running out of room!

Summary

Well that was fairly short and sweet (just like this Dildo). It’s good a decent enough girth to leave most people feeling full and satisfied, and the weight helps intensify things once you get going – but the lack of curve in it makes it a little lack lustre in the old p-spot area (meaning I’m not sure if it would be great for g-spot stimulation).

The texture is a little ‘predictable’ and doesn’t feel all that exciting in use – however when you start to experiment with the temperature, things do pick up a little bit. I would still recommend this dildo, as it’s a great size for those who might be intimidated by larger glass dildo’s – and would be suitable for both anal and vaginal play.
