The second item we reviewed for Good Clean Love was a tube of their organic personal lubricant. Through rigorous testing, we managed to empty the entire tube within a very short space of time.

The lubricant has the consistency of a water-based lube but is actually made from a mix of Organic Aloe Leaf Gel and Agar (seaweed) for a long-lasting glide, and unbeatable softness. Like their other products, it contains no parabens, petrochemicals or glycerin, making it completely body safe and suitable for those who may be slightly sensitive.

First Impressions

The lubricant arrives in a discreet little tube, which is the perfect size for the bed-side table or even a hand/travel bag. Branding wise, it’s very simple but colourful. Inside, the lube has a clear appearence and has a relatively thick consistency (it definitely feels like a ‘gel’) but once in contact with the skin, it becomes more liquid and provides a good amount of glide.

In Use

Typically, when it comes to lubricant, the Mr is usually very particular about his lubrication – typically tending to prefer silicone based lubes or oil-based – as he finds most water-based lubes too drying and ‘sticky’. So I was a little dubious as to whether he would get on well with this, but in the name of science, it had to be done.

Firstly, the smell. Unlike the body candy, the scent here is a little more under-stated but it’s definitely there. Upon the first sniff, I got the warm sweetness of the vanilla, followed by the tang of the cinnamon. Once it’s out on the skin and warmed up, the smell intensifies ever so slightly. Again, it smelt really divine and comforting.

For its lubrication qualities, first we tested it out ‘by hand’ – using a generous dollop on the Mr – and it seemed to hold up well. It provided nice, slick sensations – however I did notice that it did absorb a little too quickly, so a little bit of spit was needed just to get things slick again. But for the most part, it was doing the job and doing it well, and the Mr didn’t seem to put off by it. So that’s a good start.

Next we put it to the test with a few of our favourite masturbator sleeves, and again, it held up surprisingly well, allowing us to use the strokers with a good amount of slipperiness and comfort. At one point, I was almost certain that the lube was having a slight ‘warming’ effect on the end of my penis – it was certainly feeling a little warmer and a little more sensitive than usual. Not in an unpleasant way at all – it felt extremely nice – it just threw me off my pace for a moment as I wasn’t expecting it.

However, due to the consistency of the lube, and the fact it is quite thin, I didn’t feel it was suitable for anal sex, so alas, it was not used that way. But that doesn’t mean this is a terrible lube. Oh no.

Summary

So, we definitely got on much better with this product. As a lubricant, it works extremely well – it’s slick enough to provide a good amount of slide and slipperiness. It also doesn’t dull ‘skin on skin’ sensation – sometimes lubes can feel just a bit too thick, and therefore when using hands to stimulate, you sometimes get a slight loss of sensation – none of that here. The aroma was also pleasant, especially after the lube began to warm up.

I only wish it was actually lickable! I mean, the lube doesn’t taste bad – but I just wish that it had some taste! If you are going to the effort of making a scented lube, than adding a taste in there just seems like the obvious thing to do. But at the end of the day, the main thing is it worked really well, it’s 95% organic and completely body safe. That’s a win in my book.

If you would like to give this lube a try, you can order it from the Good Clean Love website. It comes in 2 sizes: 45ml for $9.99 or 120ml for $14.99.
