Continuing the theme of looking for toys that can be shared with a partner, I took inspiration from a low-res porn clip I found on some tube site many moons ago. This really should have been first clue as to how well this was going to turn out…

In our second review for the lovely people over at Bondara, I selected a double ended dildo, because of said porn clip I saw, in which 2 overly-preened twinks knelt butt-to-butt, both grinding all up on a dildo together. Whilst I was intrigued and somewhat aroused by what I was seeing, the dildo they were using was a horrible, bright pink jelly monstrosity. We can do much better than that. However it would seem that there aren’t that many silicone double-ended dildos – however, I managed to find one that was silicone, and relatively cheap. Would it fulfill my as-yet unrequited fantasy? Well…

First Impressions

As always, the item was hastily despatched and packaged discreetly. The actual dildo itself is packaged in a fairly rigid cardboard box with a faux reptile-print style in black all around the sides. Inside you’ll find the dildo, a bottle of water-based lube, toy cleaner and a silicone blindfold (this seems to be a gimmick with all products in the Fetish Fantasy line).

The dildo measures in at 13 inches long and has a circumference of 4.5 inches around it’s widest point. It looks almost like 2 smaller dildos ‘stuck together’ as there is a ring around the middle of the dildo that almost looks like it’s trying to hide a join mark (which in fact now looks like a join…). The dildo has a rounded, almost spoon shaped tip at each end, which has a slight curve to allow for g-spot and p-spot stimulation.

My first concern when I picked up the dildo, was how light it was, and the actual fact it felt hollow. In fact, there were parts of the dildo I could completely squeeze in. Towards the centre, it feels rigid – almost like there is a section of plastic tubing and then 2 silicone covers have been put either side to create the dildo. It’s starting to live up to it’s cheaper price tag. Am I surprised? Not really…

In Use

So before we get on with playing with it as a couple, I always like to give things a quick test drive solo, just to get a feel for the toy before I introduce it to the MR. So I settled down one afternoon, and shut myself away in the bedroom to put it through it’s paces. Due to the size, I decided that I would tackle this straight away, as the size is relatively modest, and the tip is nicely tapered and slightly smaller than the rest of the shaft, so I figured insertion would be easy.

As I lay on my side, the dildo did indeed slip in quite easily. As I moved onto my back I was able to reach down, and the other end of the dildo provided a nice big handle for me to hold on to, to allow me to thrust with it. The size felt OK and there some sort of a textured ridge in the middle of the shaft that provides some external stimulation, and the curved tip was just about coming into contact with the prostate.

However, it was missing something. There’s just no… weight. A good, solid silicone dildo has a good weight to it, that really helps intensify those thrusting motions – it also gives you something to really get a good ‘grip’ on. Here, this was totally absent. It just left me feeling empty. It’s been a long time since a dildo has left me feeling… well, just.. ‘meh’.

I figured things might be better when I used it with my partner – after all, that was really what I was most interested in exploring. I have to admit, at this point, I had shown him the dildo, and even his first reaction was ‘Oh, is that it?’ as he turned it over in his hand. To be fair, the last ‘couples’ toy we had used was the 2X Double Vibrator which was a let down. I guess our expectations were just already at a low level.

If we thought getting into a comfortable position to use the 2X was a nightmare, it’s nothing compared to how awkward this was to use. Honestly, it was a tangle of legs, lube and goodness knows what else. “How on EARTH do they do this in the movies” I gasped as I had finally reached my breaking point. “Editing”. There’s just no if’s or but(t)’s about it. Either we just need a lot more practice, or the only way both of us can successfully enjoy the sensation of being penetrated together, is to hire a porn production company… either way, I have to admit, i’m over it already.

Clean-up and Maintenance

You are supplied with a small bottle of toy cleaner with the dildo, so clean-up is as simple as rinsing with warm water and cleaner. As it’s silicone, it’s perhaps better to boil/bleach or sanitise in the dishwasher. I would definitely consider storing inside the box as the silicone is quite draggy and attracts a lot of dust and hair.

Summary

You know, I always feel bad writing negative reviews, but at the end of the day – please remember that I am reviewing the product, NOT the retailer. Bondara are absolutely wonderful and have so many genuinely wonderful products to choose from. It’s just, for me – this is not one of them.

In order to get the most out of it when used simultaneously with a partner, the dildo need to be longer, and a little firmer. Using it solo is probably the best way of using this, so this is fantastic for when you want a longer toy for deeper penetration, although i’d almost wish that each end was slightly different so you could get different sensations, dependent on which end you’ve used.

Other than that, my search for a decent couples toy will continue…
